＊分かったようで意味の取れない言葉です。特に、カタカナでコンテクストと言われても意味が全く分かりません。

＊＜文脈＞とヘタに訳したりすると、知性の半端さが露呈しますのでご注意ください！

・1. The part of a text or statement that  surrounds  a  particular  word  or  passage and determines its meaning.

・2. The circumstances in which an event  occurs;  a  setting.

　 １つの世界や文章の一節を取り巻きその意味を決定する文章や言辞、ある出来事が起きる環境、設定

・ the situation within which something exists  or  happens,  and  that can help explain it:

　何かが存在し或いは起こる際に、それを説明する助けとなり得る状況、観点、流れ、意味合い、背景

・ the text or speech that comes immediately  before  and  after a particular phrase or piece of text and helps to explain its meaning:

　本文の前後に置いて、本文の意味を説明する文書や口話、発言

・ the influences and events related to a  particular  event  or  situation

　特定の出来事や状況に関連する影響や出来事、観点、意味合い

＊文脈と訳すと何を言っているのか意味不明になります。状況、観点、流れ、意味合い、背景と訳すとピタっときます。

＊誰が＜文脈＞の訳語を当てたのか、塾長は理解に苦しみます。水脈、鉱脈、金脈、人脈などは、＜脈即ち体内を流れる血のすじ＞由来の派生語で、重要なモノが連なる系譜を意味します。従って文脈は文章の中を流れる主張の系譜、骨子となりますので、単純に＜文意＞に置き換えて良いのではないでしょうか？

＊context  とは本文、本論に理解の助けを与える観点、背景の提示の意味です。a  historical  context  と言えば、本文を歴史の尺度、意味合いから注意して理解して下さい、との助けを与える提示となります。

＊英語構造の曖昧性がここにも現れています。

context (n.)

early 15c., "a composition, a chronicle, the  entire  text  of  a  writing,"  from  Latin contextus "a joining together," originally past participle of  contexere "to weave together," from  assimilated  form  of  com  "with, together" (see con-) + texere "to weave, to make" (from PIE root *teks-  " to weave," also "to fabricate").

Meaning "the parts of a writing or discourse  which  precede  or  follow,  and  are directly connected with, some other part referred to or quoted"   is  from 1560s.

context は、１５世紀初頭に、作文、年代記、書き物全体の文章の意。ラテン語の contexus  詰まり、一緒に纏めること、weave together 織り合わせる　contexere の過去形から。con = together,  texere  =  weave 。言及される或いは引用される他の文章の前後にあってその文章に直接関連する文章や談話の一部、の意味は１５６０年代から。

＊この意味だと、例えば芭蕉の俳句の前に、句を詠んだときの状況が書かれ（地の文）、句の意味−１７文字しかないので意味が明確では無くなる欠陥を持つ−が正しく理解出来る様になりますが、それらの文章 （地の文） は context と言えますが、日本語の＜文脈＞を当てると意味が通じません。

＊話は外れますが、前文（地の文）など含めて俳句が初めて成立する訳ですが、単独扱いされる俳句ではあっても、誰かが逐一解説や注釈を行わねばならないと言う、半端な作詩形式にある詩歌ともいえます。詰まり、善し悪し或いは好悪は別にして、俳句とは独立した形式に見えても  context  抜きには成立しない、実は非独立の詩歌ですね。

Such research might develop the approach  of  the  film  in  asking  how  particular  individual recollections intersect with dominant accounts  of  particular events, issues and periods.

　（そのまま和訳すると意味が取れませんので、品詞変換＋配置換えの術で対処します、しかし元の英文が見たことの無いような悪文ですね。形容詞、名詞を連ね、適宜動詞を用いない硬直化した文章です。）

= Actually, there seems to be  vague evidence  that he  himself   talked  about  his past recollections.

　実際、彼自身が自分の過去の思い出について語ったとの曖昧な証拠がある様です。（この平易な表現で文意は同じです！）

There are simple factual errors in his  recollections,  but  the  composer  also tended to reinvent and embroider his past.

　彼の記憶には単純な事実誤差がありますが、その一方、作曲家は彼の過去を作り変え潤色する傾向にありました。

＊通常、複数形で用いられます。

The novel contains endless reminiscences  of/about  theauthor's youth.

≒Again, although he tells that he  has  experienced  the  city,  the  fact  is  that he is weaving his  reminiscences with glimpses of the buildingsand  monuments they pass.

＝更に、彼は自分はその町を知っていると語るが、実際は彼らが通りすがりにちらりと見た建物や記念碑（の記述）と彼の回想とを綯い交ぜにして語っている訳だ。

＊he links experiences to the city ＜彼は経験をその町に結びつける＞、これは英語表現としても見ないものであり、文学的な表現と思われますが、そのまま和訳すると日本語として通用せず意味不明ですので、修辞的な動詞表現 links ...to を取り除いて、he experienced the city とさっと脳内変換し、＜彼は自分はその町に経験が有る、知っていると語る＞と解釈します。

＊bear a resemblance to　〜に似る、なども、余分な動詞を捨て、resemble 〜に似ている、一語にサッと置き換えます。

　＜余計な動詞排除＋名詞動詞化＞の術です。

The numerous asides dealing with everything  from  the  evolution  of  snakes  to  the fieldwork reminiscences of many of the scientists involved  were  absorbing and informative.

　ヘビの進化から多くの関連科学者達の野外調査の思い出に至るまでの数多くの余談の全ては、夢中になるほど面白くて有益である。

→これら数多くの余談は、ヘビの進化から始まり数多くの関連科学者についての野外調査時の回想までを記述するが、面白くタメになる。

＊ loved, beloved なる語は死者を形容する場合（例えば墓碑銘など）にしばしば使われます。詰まり、受け身を表す＜過去＞分詞とは、過去の意味を含んでいることになりますね。〜される、ではなく、〜された、と言う訳です。
